Any ideas for elegant table decor? I am thinking about yellow rose petals.

I'm planning a 50th wedding anniversary party for my in-laws. To keep the decor of the party elelgant, I found disposable gold colored table clothes with a lacey design. The centerpieces will be fresh flowers, but not a a tall vase. I want to keep the centerpiece low and more full looking, such as in a small bowl. Best wishes.

I purchased plastic gold tableclothes to accent the white linen at dinner, purchased a few centerpieces along with real rose centerpieces, and got gold Happy 50th Anniversary confetti to sprinkle around the tables. The party isn't until June, so I hope it works.

An idea for the 50th anniversary party:
For my parents 50th, we took a black and white photo of their wedding cake to the local cake decorator and she reproduced their wedding cake. My parents recognized it immedicately and were suprised and touched.
Their anniversary is near Chirstmas, so on the invitation we suggested the guests bring an ornament that would remind my parents of them. It eliminated the "what do I get them as a gift" and my parents loved the new additions to the Christmas tree after 50 years.

We are having a 50th anniversary party for my parents in Quebec City at a restaurant. I just ordered gold monogrammed napkins and will likely get some flowers as well. Can anyone tell me what kinds of toasts/poems that they have used for such an occasion? We will also have 12 grandchildren there so we need to get them involved too! Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!

I too am hosting a 50th wedding anniversary - I think I might wrap empty boxes w/ gold & cream paper & decorate w/ bows?

Don't forget a fun thing to do for this occasion is to spray paint real flowers gold and mix in with real or silk. Roses work very well, however they must be spray painted no more than 4 hours before occasion. It doesn't take that long and the effect is beautiful!! Try this idea out before the real thing!
