Start a binder of all the resources that you find. It will come in handy!

Start small, keep detailed records of what you do, and always take pictures of your work.

I am planning a surprise 60th party for my mom and I have a list for every aspect all in one heavy duty folder. Lists for guests, food, decorations, shopping list, addresses, etc. It works well. Marking off things in red helps too!

I agree...always start small but parties with a theme seem to be more fun for all ages

I helped to plan my brother inlaws wedding and at very low cost, call around, buy things in advance, look for donations, etc...

found glowsource online and they have some really cool stuff...you can get them to personalize tons of stuff for you, but they also have some really cool stuff to decorate with. I was looking at their site for some wedding stuff...they have some cool balloon lights and what not....check it out!
