Question: One of my bridesmaids, who is throwing me a lingerie shower along with another bridesmaid of mine, told me "not to expect a present from her because in case I did not know, hostesses do not buy the bride a gift". I was very insulted. From my previous knowledge with hosting parties, that is not true. I researched this in Emily Post's Wedding Etiquette, the knot, etc and could not find an answer.
If my bridesmaid is strapped for cash, I understand. But if that is the case, she should have said that instead of being so hurtful.
