We did a gift basket theme for my roommate which is really great if you have a whole bunch of poor college students coming to the shower! We assigned groups of friends to put together a gift basket and gave them a room in the house to buy for. One basket for the kitchen, another group for the bathroom, bedroom, etc. It was great!

I am trying to come up with creative shower ideas beyond the traditional kitchen shower, lingerie shower, etc. Does anyone have any ideas? Very Happy
You can have a recipe book shower where everyone brings copies of their favorite foods and make a book for the bride. you can also have guests make some of their recipes to serve at the shower.

I think a cute idea is a "Kitchen and Tool" Shower...that way it is more like a party and both the bride and groom and friends attend.
Good Luck

You could always do an around the clock shower where guests bring gifts that match their designated time, indicated on the invitation. Or a gift card shower is easy and fun for all.

Another good idea is an "Around the House" shower...the bride and groom can then pick which rooms they want you to assign people, i.e. kitchen, bathroom, garage, bar, etc. so they get a good assortment of gifts...this works well when the couple is not having very many showers.

Have you ever been in the middle of creating the perfect culinary masterpiece, when you suddenly realize that you don't own the most important cook's tool that the recipe calls for? After you have to scrap the best recipe you could possibly ever make (yes, you guessed it, for lack of that flour sifter), you realize the value of those not-so-useless cook's tools. Prevent this trauma for your bride-to-be with a kitchen theme shower.
