I am planning an awards ceremony for a local theatre. Best Actor, actress... that type of thing. Any ideas for a good favor at a low cost?

You could make small bags of mints or candies in netting and tie with a bow and a movie ticket with the date of the event, etc. Good luck!

Why not make miniature Oscar statues made of chocolates? It will really be a unique idea..

This is probably too late, but it might also be cute to do little "gift bags" that copy what they do at the Oscars (but on a smaller scale). With mini bottles of shampoos, smelly soaps, etc. Though that might get expensive.

You've probably already made a decision but baking cookies using a statue shaped cutter and decorating with gold icing could could pretty low cost and delicous too!
