What's the common length for a 2 - 6 year old tutu? And how many yards is required for a "full" tutu? Thanks!

I make these often for my daughter who is just about 3. For my tutu business, I do them custom by child measurement though.

For my toddler who has a 21" waist and is about 37" tall ~ a poofy, skirt length tutu is generally 18" (36" strip folder over) and a standard, mid-thigh tutu is usually 15".
For both ~ I use 3 rolls of 6" tulle, each is 25 yards. These are super full and poofy with no ugly elastic gaps.

HTH!

I do the same- I use 3 6-inch rolls for a smaller child, and 4 rolls for any that are over probably 70lbs. I also use ribbon instead of the elastic, and fill exactly the waist length of ribbon so it fits perfectly. I make each individual piece about an arm's length. Any suggestions for fun things to add to the tulle, or how to get glitter on there without making a mess? I have tried to hot glue some things, but it sometimes melts the tulle. Thanks!

Another question- how do you sew togther your elastic (by hand?) and what kind do you use? Do you cut it a certain number of inches smaller than the waist size? I might try one and see how it works out for me! Thanks!

I would like to know how much people make when they sell tutu's.... They seem to be everywhere online so i was wondering if the market was flooded or if it is still a good idea...
