I'm amazed no one has replied. You probably have your planning done by now! I like the idea of stars and grad hats on sticks coming out of a jar of rocks/candies. You can decorate the jar with paper, ribbons, etc.
This makes a great centerpiece, especially if you put the grad's photo on one! For entertainment, how about a video presentation made up of photos of the highlights of the grad's school years? Have fun! And search online!! Loads of great ideas there!

yes, posting pictures of the grad from 1st grade on is great. Also, any activities they were in. you can also use the theme and colors of the college theywill be attending.

Themes are always fun. At least they are for the graduation party planner. Make sure you run this one past the graduate. Don't assume anything. Some well-intentioned probing questions with the graduate will reveal some acceptable themes. Once you choose the graduation party theme, the food is easy. Let me see - Sponge Bob; seafood, Western; BBQ, Barbie; Hey -forget the party - a nice brand new shiny pink Corvette or Ferrari with go great with my new outfit!
