|

O.K. The hall that is offering me the best deal for my reception does not use Tulle in their original scheme of decorating but says I can do my own decorating but of course I can not use staples, tacks, glue......etc...... to attach items to walls or tables.
Now I would LOVE to have some tulleing with the tiny lights around the head table and on the cake and gift table as well as along the railing that seperates the bar from the rest of the room......Please tell me how I can attach these items and still stay with the guidelines of what I am NOT ALLOWED TO USE FOR ATTACHMENT!!! I figure I would spend the extra on the battery powered lights so as to not have to worry about extensions and plugs but I am darned if I can figure a way to keep the tulleing and lights in place......
I am not CRAFTY at all!!!
Thanks for all the help I can get.

Go to google and search tablecloth fasteners, these work by clipping to edge of the table and the have either Velcro to attach the tulle or a slot to put it in. You can use these or something like them to fasten your tulle, you could also use straight pins on the table cloths, they will not leave a hole when removed. If all else fails try double sided tape, the tulle itself is very light. Hope this helps! |

| we used velcro on the netting and then attached it to velcro around the edge of the bar. you could also buy the hangers that use sticky tack (i think they are made by 3m) they don't leave marks when you pull off the hanger and tacky. |

| you can use plastic twist ties - the heavy duty ones that you slip one end through a the other and pull tight. If you put these through a small hole in the tulle, then you can securely fasten it to any round pole/tent etc. |

| You can use the gum like stuff. It works well and comes off pretty easy. |

Gosh, I'm glad you asked!! I have been on the decorating team for our prom & various other events and we have the same issue with our banquet hall. We simply use magnets and hot glue them to the fabric. Then we place the magnet on the metal surrounding the ceiling tiles. It works GREAT!!! |

| Great thread, I'm trying to attach tulle to tables for my 6 yo's tea birthday party. I'll have to look for the gum like stuff. Does anyone know what it's called? Is it safe to also attach to wood trim and walls? |

I am not sure what's the gum stuff is called. The product that's made by 3M that would work well is called Command1. I found cheapest at WallMart.
Thank you all for your thoughts about decorating with tullie, it has been very helpful. |

| The gummy stuff is called "Gummy Tac", you can get it at any office supply store or like Wal-Mart. It does sometimes leave a greasy residue. The Command by 3M comes in many sizes. |
