|

| What is the feeling on pre-stamped postcards as RSVP cards for a wedding? My wedding is a destination wedding overseas and the invitations are informal. We are only inviting close family and friends. And we aren't even expecting half of them to attend because of the lengthy trip. Many of the etiquette books say a postcard is gauche (not to mention the stamp - apparently guests can find their own stamps). But in asking around most people seem to think the postcard idea is great. Anyone here have any advice? |

I think a reply postcard is a great idea . The stamps are cheaper, and you don't have to rip into envelopes to get to the card.
A bit of advice (in case you have never heard this)--number your reply cards and keep a list of what number went to what person. This way you'll know who replied in case someone forgets to put their name on it. |

| yes, I also think the post card idea is great. I am planning to use them for my wedding in October. The stamps are cheaper. I also like the numbering idea. I never thought of that!! |

I had the same question and concern and found resources that said, while once considered gauche, are now acceptable if done in similar quality carstock as invitation. I just mailed mine today, with postcard response cards (and our wedding is a little more formal than a destination wedding, though not as formal as an evening wedding).
Good luck! |
