You can always do something regarding your ethic background as a favor.

I think a neat idea for wedding favors is 4 Lindor truffles in a plastic champagne glass with a nice personalized ribbon and some tulle around it. Fairly inexpensive and it adds a nice touch to any wedding.

I've had friends find small silver frames and put their engagement or couple picture in them, wrap them in tulle and tie them with personalized ribbon. Another favor idea was personalizing small votive candles and wrapping them with tulle. I was able to find some great rose soaps off TheKnot and will wrap them indivually with tulle and personalized ribbon with a small thank you favor tag. There are so many little things you can do! Check out The Knot for some ideas.....

We're using the money that we would spend on favors (and a little more) and donating it to the American Cancer Society to honor his dad and to the American Heart Association to honor my family members that are no longer with us. It's a different idea.

We're getting marble souvenirs from India and using printed/personalized ribbon to wrap around the little souvenirs (our wedding is a mix of Indian and Jewish cultures).

We got engaged in New Orleans and love Louisiana music and food, so that's our reception theme. The centerpieces will be martini glasses filled with mardi gras beads, and the favors are small bottles of Louisiana hot sauce. We're hoping the guests end up wearing most of the beads by the end of the reception.
You can get mardi gras beads in just about any color - google on "mardi gras beads" for sources online. |

I am getting married in July, and for my favors I purchased a few yards of tulle (very inexpensive) and personalized ribbon. I am going to wrap black & red candy (my wedding colors) in the tulle and tie them with the personalized ribbon.
