Our theme is an elegant dinner. We are covering the ceiling with tulle and making some centerpieces etc. So i guess you can go either way with engagement parties. We are just used to the typical parties and wanted something a little different. We would love to do something but really can't afford to pickup a large bill. Would having a cash bar be rude? I was thinking of paying for appetizers and booking a nice area but really can't afford more than that. How should we prepare the guests so they are not disappointed? If not, then I don't think a cash bar would be rude as booking the location and paying for appetizers is very generous. Or provide only one kind of drink for the night like champagne and then the guests can order their other drinks. Good luck!
