| Any creative ideas for what to include in out of town gift bags? In addition to the standard snacks and water, we've thought about including personalized playing cards and a candle (and matches), but I'm curious whether anyone has any other thoughts. Thanks! |

| I think the candle and matches are a great idea. I would even include custom matches without the candle - they're not that expensive and everyone can use them. We're also thinking about putting in the personalized pens as another option. I'd love to hear if anyone else has some good ideas... |

| Any suggestions to decorations and level of formality for an outdoor wedding? We're having the ceremony at a botanical garden and i'm not sure if i should include more decorations due to all the blooming flowers around us. the wedding is also on july 4th so i'm not sure if i should tell guests to dress more comfortably b/c of the heat. |

| We are going to include some information about our area (the city's magazine, other publications, local maps) as well as samples of products made here (we have a pecan industry in our town that makes wonderful nut products); Our Chamber of Commerce also has some things like bottled water with their label. Other personal touches are going to include things for the kids (age-appropriate) like pool toys, etc. I've also gotten some bath things like bubble bath samples, nylon scrubbies, etc. |

| I agree with having a bag/basket filled with things that are related to the city in which you are getting married. I am getting married in a city in which I do not live and the majority of my guests will be traveling. We have thought of doing visitor's guides, Peach State themeed bags (Georgia wedding), etc. I think it makes it a lot more personable to have it themed around something that is special to you or the location. |

| My wedding is being held in the city my fiance and I live in (Atlanta, GA)which is not either of our hometowns. My coordinator had an idea of doing out of town gift bags for the guests. She suggested using alot of "free" or low cost items relevant to Atlanta. This will help reduce the cost of wedding favors. |

| I was at a wedding once where they had personalized coffe packets in the bags w/ 2 mugs. I think the packets read something like "Mike & Maria... A perfect blend". It actually worked out really well the next morning w/ the coffee maker the hotel provided in the room. |

We're getting married in St. Louis, and neither of us are from here. I've only been here 6 months, my fiance has been here 2 years. So, most of our guests will be from out of town.
I came across a lady who makes up gift baskets, with traditional St. Louis items in it (e.g. local made chocolate, etc). Thought that would be a good idea.
I also like the idea of including maps and stuff, just to make things easier for people. |

we are having a wedding in LA and for the out of town people in the gift bags, we have included a map of the stars homes. Lots of the people will have rented cars and this way they can drive through some of the prettiest neighborhoods and maybe even see a star! A map is probably a good idea for most any city......there are always sights to see! |

For our out of town guests, I found bags from Exclusively Weddings that say 'Welcome to our Wedding Weekend.' Inside, we will put personalized pens with our names & wedding date, wedding M & M's in small clear boxes, personalized matches, mini champagne bottles with personalized labels, and napkins that say "Eat, Drink, & Be Married" (from JeanM Essentials). We will also do the basics like bottled water & munchies. I hope this helps! Have fun & good luck! |

My fiance and I found these personalized water bottles at one of the Favor sites. We thought it would be a great idea - something to help sober up the partiers after the reception!!! |

Yes, we also had a lot of luck working with the Chamber of commerce. A quick phone call and a few days later we had more local maps and "things to do' booklets than anyone could hope to have.
We also bought Decks of Playing cards in bulk from Costco which were greatly appreciated. We just had a few families with kids, so for those friends we included a few toys for the kids which we bought from the dollar store.
good luck! |

| For out of town guests with kids, we bought cheap instant cameras. (the kind that print out pictures instantly) The kids got to take pictures of their trip, and it kept them busy during the wedding. |

I think you had better use some modelling balloons to decorate your party.
