I'm having a beach theme wedding in a resort area. Does anyone have any creative ideas for party favors with seashells?

you could get a small bottle w/ a cork top from like, Michael's or any craft store, and fill it w/ sand and some small shells to simulate taking a piece of your wedding home w/ them. Or if it's near the holidays, making sand dollars into ornaments is absolutely beautiful. I did this by just taking thin ribbon and looping it through one of the openings and it looks beautiful. If you go to the west coast of Florida, by Boca Grande island, (I don't know where you're located) but you can find hundreds of them, and not spend a dime.

A good idea may be to use sand dollars for the name cards, and let them keep them after the reception

you can make shells into magnets. you can get magnetic stripping from the craft store...very inexpensive, cut and glue to fit the back. if the shell is big enough you can write your names and wedding date with a metallic paint marker.

A couple of ideas for seashell party favors:
1. Get a pretty shell (like a mini conch or mini lightning whelk) that can hold the placecard. You can add a nice finishing touch like a bow.
2. Consider buying a mini sand pail (they're usually under a buck), fill it with brown sugar, and top it off with a few seashell-shaped chocolates.
3. Seashell-shaped soaps wrapped in organza or tulle and tied with a bow are pretty, too. Just be sure that the fragrance isn't overwhelming.
Good luck! |
