I am planning a December wedding with a Christmas theme. I would like it to be more elegant than cute (there will be no Santa at the reception ) I am looking for unique ideas, decorating, entertaining, etc. that will make our wedding memorable. I have found the internet not so helpful and all of the bride magazines out are for Summer/Fall. Any ideas? |

I'm having a Christmas wedding too
I was thinking red rose garland lining the edges of the tables and red floating candles. I was also thinking about using White tablecloths and then draping a piece of red tulle over the tables. And of course, instead of bubbles or birdseed, I'm going to have my guests throw red rose petals when we leave. |

I am having a Winter Wedding also.
We purchased pine bough garland and lots of Christmas bulbs after Christmas last year at discounted prices and we are using it to form centerpieces that will be similar to wreaths and sit on a 14" charger plate with candle holders in the center. We are doing a lot of red and silver as I didn't want to be too Christmas with just red and green. |

how about using glistening snow flakes hanging from the ceiling, different size trees decorated with only white lights in the first of the altar, ice sculptures, ice blue, silver and white are great colors, or more tradition deep emerald green and dark burgundy red are also great. If you go red/green, poinsettas entertwined with tulle is beautiful. Hope this helps. |

| A friend of mine actually had a Christmas tree at her reception that was beautiful. Her guest favors where these nice silver ornaments and she decorated the tree with the ornaments. It was a really nice touch to the reception area. She also used a lot of the Christmas greens on the guest tables and head table...it made the room smell GREAT!!! While all these things were Christmas themed it turned out to be very elegant. Hope that's helpful! |

| If anyone is looking for unique favors for a christmas wedding, my soon to be sister in law had a christmas wedding last year and she bought clear christmas orniments and she hand painted them with different designs on them. Everyone really liked them..they were a big hit. |

schedules prohibitied it.
Aaaaaaanyway, some ideas =
* lots and lots of candles during the ceremony (low lighting)
* burgundy and silver as a color option
* for the cake - each layer is an individual wrapped package or instead of layering the cake have each layer go across the table from smallest to largest "present
* as the bride i thought about wearing a red velvet cape
i'm sure it'll be beautiful
