Hi, I'm looking for a suggestion for a candlelighting poem for an aunt and uncle from California; we're from NJ. It will be for candle number 4. Thanks!

I'm also in NJ....and it's been eons since I attended a Bar or Bat Mitzvah. I think I need to talk with my Rabbi because I'm completely unaware of this part of the celebration! I thought all the 'ceremony' type things took place prio to the party.

I think the best thing is when the child helps create the poem, let them give you ideas of what they should say and then you can help them with a poem. The candle lighting doesn't have to revolve around the them but more around the people they are honoring.
