I am thinking about doing votive candles in organza bags, with personalized matches for favors. I think I am looking at about 200 people. Is this a good idea? Any other suggestions as far as cheap organza bags and votive candles or other creative, yet inexpensive favor ideas?? Thanks.

THE VOTIVE CANDELS AND MATCHBOOKS ARE A GREAT IDEA THAT IS ACTUALLY WHAT I WILL BE DOING AT MY WEDDING IN SEPTEMBER. I PLAN TO ORDER MY CANDLES FROM YANKEE CANDLE AND THEY HAVE CUSTOM CANDLES YOU CAN PUT TOGETHER. THIS IS A GREAT IDEA MY FRIENDS ALL LOVE IT AND ITS RATHER INEXPENSIVE.

I WISH YOU LUCK!!

That's a great idea, I'm also getting married in Sept (THIS month!), congrats to you both! Ours will be an out of town wedding (in Las Vegas) and I was hoping to do something small, so that I can get everything into my suitcases...otherwise, I'll be UPS'ing the favors down there. Thanks!

I also am doing votive candles for wedding favors. I purchased my votive holders from www.orientaltrading.com and they come with stickers that you can put on the holder that says thanks for sharing our special day and you can also get them personalized with name and date with no additional charge.

Congrats to everyone, I am getting married next June. The votives are a great idea. Keep in mind you can get votive candles at the Dollar Store for really cheap. They are just candles so it's not like they need to be from an expensive place. Just a thought. I can't help it, I'm a dollar store junkie ... it's really amazing what you can find sometimes!!!!

Also, in all the invitation books you see the favors of a cookie cutter that says "cut out for each other" and the name and date. A friend of mine did these at her wedding and made them all herself and they turned out really cute. She just got a ton of cookie cutters, then printed off 2 different cookie receipies and attached with the cookie cutter with ribbon. They turned out great.

Best wishes to all with their big day!

My fiance and I sat down and made a list of 19 love songs that mean a lot to us and then bought cd's from Wal-Mart with clear cases so that we could burn enough on our computer for our 200 guests. We made the front cover on our computer by putting our photo in the middle, the words "Meant To Be" above the photo, and our wedding date under our photo. The inside cover was an insert sheet that we also printed on the computer with our favorite bible verse and a thank you message from us. The back cover of course was the list of songs we had choosen to use and their artists. It cost us around $175 for 200 cd's. I think it will be something great for the guests to go home with feeling fulfilled not like they are walking away with a gift that was cheap and thrown together, and not given from the heart.

Just a thought. I hope everyone has an unbelieveable dream wedding!!

For my daughter's wedding, we purchased champagne flutes at the dollar store and made gel candles out of them. We bought the gel at a craft store (when they have 40-50% off coupons). We got the wicks and scents there too and are decorating them with "continuous ribbon". The wedding is in April and I am sure they will look very pretty on the tables.

I'm going to give beer/soda coozies. They are inexpensive and everyone uses them.

I love the matchbooks! They arent so incredibly expensive, yet they are simple and elegant without looking to cheesy or cheap. I cant wait to get a definate guest count to order them!

Votive candles and matchbooks are a very popular favor. They are inexpensive and very practical. Take a look at our website for a great deal on personalized matchbooks and a variety of organza bag colors.

I ordered little 2 inch white boxes on Ebay. Then I printed my own personalized labels to wrap around hershey miniatures. I'll put 4 in a box and tie with ribbon to match the wedding. It's a real classy and inexpensive way to personalize your favors!!

If you have a Hobby Lobby in your city they have a "Bridal Blowout" sale ever couple of months where all of there wedding items are 50% off. I have gotten several good deals there. They have organza bags and tulle circles there. They also have favor box kits and mints, etc.

We are also doing candles with personalized matchbooks. Party Innovations matchbooks are great. But instead of just putting them in the netting, I am using the small vellum bags with the netting inside to hold the candle, net rising just above bag, then putting matchbook on top of candle where it can be seen just through the netting. Using appreciation cards to put up against the vellum bags.
