I am planning a wedding and wondering how many matchbooks to order? I am thinking I will order 350 for 500 guests. Does anybody have suggestions or any experience with having leftover
or a shortage of favors? Also, I want to order napkins with our monogram, but are they worth it? Will anyone notice? Thanks

I definitely did take notice of the matchbooks and monogrammed cocktail napkins at my good friend's wedding. I was not thinking of my own wedding at the time, and I thought the little touches made a difference. One way to ensure you don't have left over, is to plan a reason for your matches. This friend also had cigars for men and women (w/ labels on them too!) to enjoy with an after dinner drink and of course we used the match books. 350 is a good default and you can always use them when the party is over and you have left overs.

If you have a minimum order to meet, maybe you'll put matchbooks in the hotel room bags. Also, for my favor I am doubling it as my place marker for each guest. They find their table number/seating arrangement and get their favor all at once! I'm doing a bottle of wine per couple and tying the place card to it. Good luck and have fun!
